Multi-Layer Communication Technology, LLC engineers expertise expands over several decades dating back to the early 1970’s. Our experience in the communications field began in the United States Army Signal Core. During that time the love for telecommunications was developed. The signal core entails handling all communications for the United States Army.
Telecommunications during the 1970’s were being handled by 1A2 key systems. Some of the models installed moving into the later part of the decade were CommDial, Panasonic, AT&T and Bell Key systems. Some major projects using these systems that MCT engineers were involved in ARA, Agriculture Research Center projects. The industry moving into the 1980’s moved to PBX’s, which used TDM (Time Division Multiplex) technology. MCT engineers became certified in this technology during this period. Some of the systems using this technology during this period were ROLM, NAC, NORTHERN, DIMENSION SYSTEMS. Some of the major projects completed at this time were American Management Systems (AMS) HECTHS, W.S.S.C., Satellite Business Systems (SBS), International Monetary Fund (IMF-one of the first sites to use laser technology between buildings), Providence Hospital, Maryland University, Delaware State Penitentiary. MCT engineers are versed in all of the above mentioned systems.
Data communications in the early 1970’s while PC’s had yet to be developed, data was being shared mainly through mainframes, data processing centers and word processors. MCT engineers from the 20th to the 21st century were and are involved in installing dual coax cable, single coax, 10BaseT Ethernet, IBM Token Ring ( Type II, Type I, Type VI), CAT3 thru CAT6, multi mode fiber. Some of the hardware infrastructure using the above mentioned cable plants are Hub, Switches, Routers, Servers, Mainframes. Some of the major projects involving MCT engineers using this technology are, Washington D.C. World Bank, American Management Systems, U.S. Postal Headquarters Law Department, NIH, P.G. County Government, Washington D.C. Metro rail system, W.S.S.C.. MCT engineers are versed in all of the above mentioned infrastructure.
MCT in the last ten (10) plus years have managed the network infrastructure and voice infrastructure for both national and international site for AMS/CGI.
